Wild in Scotland - Feedback

Fun, Fun, Fun and then some……..

Hi There;

I have been visiting Scotland for over 10 years and up until last week I had never made it further than Stirling.

I booked my tour for myself and a friend a couple of months in advance which gave me plenty of time to ponder what horrors could await me – dull tour guides, large dorms full of snoring, farting folk, torrential rain and getting stuck up various hills.

However, the tour exceeded my expectations in every way. All 3 days were fantastic. I learned a lot but it didn’t feel like I was being lectured. Information was delivered with emotion and enthusiasm and was well received by all.

The group was very mixed (ages and nationalities) but we all got on really well without any traumas. The hostel was situated in a beautiful location with small rooms and everything you could think of to hand.

Of course there was one thing (or should I say person) that really made the tour…Danny, what a character. His storytelling ability was second to none and his enthusiasm for all things Scottish was highly contagious.

The only one criticism that I have would be he needs to slow down or take a holiday. Sometimes I was exhausted just watching him!

All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip. I would not hesitate to recommend “Wild in Scotland” to my friends and family and who knows, I may book another tour for next summer!!!

We had an awesome 3 days with Danny as our brilliant guide. We could not believe how much you can fit into 3 days when you are having such a good time. We highly recommend this tour as well as Danny for a fun dedicated and very knowledgable guide (even after hours). We would have liked to do a longer tour and definitely would look at the 6 days next time. Thanks Danny we miss your choice Scottish talk!!!

Just got back from the 3 day tour of Skye & the highlands and it was an excellent three days! The guys on my tour were fabulous (even though 5 out of 7 were Aussie) and we had a great time exploring the highlands & the isle of Skye together. Danny was awesome and made the best of the situation (the weather) making it a great tour for us. The kitty system is great cooking dinner together was awesome. Will definitely recommend Wild in Scotland tours to everyone! Thanks for a great long weekend!!

Hi,

Taking that trip to the Isle of Skye last weekend was absolutely the best thing I could have done! Thank you for a lovely time.
It was nice to be on a tour that didn’t include tourist shops and all that kind of stuff. The whole trip was well planned and organized.
Your house in Stromeferry is a dream! And Gordon and his stories about vikings were fascinating.

And Danny! Yes Danny, he is some character! I really enjoyed his enthusiasm of telling stories.  It was like he was telling them for the first time and for you only! That is a talent!  I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in a movie or in theatre one day. . .The stories were fascinating and his knowledge of the history good. He made it all sound  interesting so much as that I decided to go and buy a book and learn more.
I also admired his way to cope with those giggling girls. His was a friend and was joking with them but never on any circumstances did he cross the line of being professional. Not an easy thing to do. I know from my job. I hope you know what kind of treasure you have in him. . .

If I can find a job and  get cheap accommodation in Scotland,  and be able to stay here ’till the end of March as I have planned, I would like to go on another tour of yours. And definitely,  I will advertise you to all my friends. Actually,  I did already yesterday! So if you start to get middle-aged women  from Finland attending your tours,  you can only blame me!

Thanks again and every best wish for 2009 to all of you!

Sari

Hi Kirsty (and Kath,  or whoever else may be reading this email!)
My phone has been causing a fair amount of grief with telstar not allowing me to recharge due to an expiry date issue on my credit card. The joys of dealing with large companies from afar!

So I’ve been meaning to send a note of appreciation for the past few days.  I  figured last week was your winding down/ organising parties etc. It all sounded quite hectic from what I could gather.

Anyway, a brief note to say a mighty thanks for the 3 day trip to Skye.  It was a stack of great value and possibly the highlight of my time  since I left Oz.

Please pass on my thanks to Ewan for his efforts and tell him that I took his advice and headed up to Inverness/Ullapool last weekend.  I got saturated on the Saturday afternoon a couple of times but rewarded on Sunday morning up on Stac Pollaidh.

Trust all is good and I look forward to catching up in Edinburgh one weekend down the track.

Cheers,

Justin.

Hi Kath,

We’ve just been coming up with some good feedback for you!

The kitty is such a good idea for making things simpler. It only took 10 minutes to pick up food for breakfast and dinner and then you didn’t have to worry about the hassle of splitting costs or anything later on.

The house; we were blown away with how nice it was.  It was in the perfect location and had everything. Stove fire, nice big kitchen, lovely bedrooms and Gordon! We thought it was really good that everyone got to stay together and have dinner together. We know that with some other companies the group is split but eating together made it so much easier to get to know everyone.

The tour; one day did not seem long enough on Skye! We were pretty lucky with the weather so we actually got a lot of time off the bus to go walking. We also had quite a lot of freedom in choosing where to go on Skye. No one had any particular places they wanted to visit but Danny kept asking to see if we wanted to do this or that so it felt a bit less like we were on a strict itinerary.

The guide; we all thought Danny was  brilliant. He was really good at relaxing people and playing games to get everyone talking. He is obviously very passionate about Scotland and the history. We had lots of stops and he always had a wee story for every place. He was also extremely enthusiastic about everything. Walking,  getting off the bus as much as possible, involving people and dressing up etc.

Let us know if you want us to go into more detail with anything but we really struggled to think of any negative feedback!

Regards,
Morna and Jenni

Hey Wild in Scotland Team!

We’re just emailing to say massive THANK YOU for taking us on the Skye tour! It was  our first time on the island and we were so lucky with the weather so we got to do lots of walking and nearly braved a quick swim in a pool. The boat trip with Neil was such a highlight!  We managed to make some dolphin friends along the way which was amazing!  Almost as good as the scallops on board. We absolutely loved the trip,  especially Danny with his elaborate tales and Gordon with his slightly scary sword collection.

Thank you so much again!

Kindest Regards,

Jenni,  Morna and Vanessa

Hi all!

I just wanted to say a huge Thank you to everyone at Wild in Scotland! My cousin Nathan and i travelled on a 3 day tour around this time last year and we are still talking about it today!

Simon had amazing knowledge of the Country and its History which we both loved and appreciated, we learnt more than we ever hoped to on such a short journey. We have memories from the trip that will last forever!

We recommend your tours to everyone we know heading to Scotland because we know you will provide them with as great an experience as we had.

Thanks again!

Lauren Fitzgerald.

Tour taken in April

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to drop you a quick line now that I am finally back from my travels,  and let you know what a brilliant time I had on the three day tour at the end of April. I have to let you know the tour exceeded all my expectations, having flexibility, our wonderfully informative and friendly driver/tour guide Bruce, and a great sized group (not to mention brilliant locations and scenery the whole trip). The accommodation was great and I have to say better than the hotels I stayed in when I stayed in Edinburgh which I paid a lot more for.

I just wanted to let you guys know what a brilliant job you are doing and I thank you for making my trip to Scotland a great highlight of my trip. It is a great joy to be able to come away from a tour and to have only good things to say and great memories.

Also thanks to Gordon and Charlie for their hospitality at the hostel, they both certainly made the trip that bit more special.

Thanks again

Kind Regards

Sarah Jenkins
